Funeral services were held for Evelyn Elaine Howell Cochran, 71, of Lucedale on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Interment followed in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bruce McKenzie, Rev. Ronnie Maxie and Rev. John Henry officiating the services.
A retired teacher for Benndale and Central Schools and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, she died June 20. She was born July 12, 1947.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, J.W. Cochran Sr.; sons John Wesley (Cindy Ann) Cochran Jr. Timmy (Shanee) Cochran, Joey (Melissa) Cochran, all of Lucedale; grandchildren Arlette (Slater) Smith of Meridian, Brandon Cochran of Leakesville, Surremy Cochran of Starkville, Corine Cochran, Emmie (Caleb) Barker, Tate Cochran, Timber Cochran, Carys Cochran, Anna-Kate Cochran, Lilly Cochran, Elia Cochran, all of Lucedale; one great-grandson Greer Barker due in November; and sister Rena (Erwin) Cowart of Lucedale.
She was preceded in death by her infant son Thomas Andrew Cochran and parents Cecil and Evelyn Colson Howell.
Pallbearers included Chad Cochran, Hank Cochran, Larry Odom, W.C. Shepherd, Christopher Cochran and Jacob Cochran.
George County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
