Funeral services for Ollie Dee “Pop” Boykin Sr., of Lucedale were held on Jan. 7, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Sigler Funeral Home.
He was born June 28, 1940 and lived in Lucedale his entire life. For 40 years he owned and operated Coastal Plastering Co., in Mobile, Ala. Many of his family members were involved in the business.
Pop was an avid outdoorsman and spent as much time as possible enjoying such with his friends and family. His grandchildren were the main joy of his life. He died Jan. 3, 2021 in Mobile.
He is survived by his wife Myrtle; daughter Karla Richardson; son Dee (Janet) Boykin; grandchildren Kain, Kaelen, Ollia and Lauren; brothers Max Boykin, Randall Davis and Eddie Davis; sister Betty (Clyde) Napp and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father A. Cornell Boykin; mother Irene Davis; stepfather Wilson Davis; brothers Bobby Davis and Faron Davis and two infant children.
Officiating the services was Rev. John Henry. Interment was held in Union Cemetery.
