Funeral services for Dr. Donald M. Boone, 73, of Lucedale were held March 6, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Rocky Creek Baptist Church. He was born September 15, 1949 in Mobile, Ala. He was a graduate of the University of Mobile in Mobile, and holds the Master of Arts and Doctor of Ministries degrees from Southern Baptist Center for Biblical Studies in Jacksonville, Fla. He was a minister with the Southern Baptist Church for over 50 Years. He entered the ministry in 1967, and he served as pastor in churches in Mississippi, Louisiana, Kentucky and Alabama. He has been a much sought-after revivalist, evangelist and Bible Conference speaker and teacher. Through the years of his ministry he has remained faithful to both the Word of God and the call that God placed on him at age sixteen. He died March 2, 2023. He is survived by his wife Jamie (Godwin) Boone; two daughters Chrissy (Charlie) Mitchell and Heather (Chuck) Crouch; brother Randy (Becky) Boone; four grandchildren Faith Mitchell, Jane Mitchell, AnnGrace Mitchell and Charlotte Crouch; sisters-in-law Sue Boone, Elaine Postma and Bert Pope; brother-in-law Steve Godwin; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry Maxwell and Mary Sue (Douglas) Boone; and a brother Ricky Boone. Officiating the services was Dr. Randy Davis. Interment was held in Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Sigler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
