Funeral services were held for Johnny K. Box, 73 of Pace, Fla. at 2 p.m. February 4, 2021 at Immanuel Baptist Church.
Born on July 23, 1947, in Mobile, Ala, he grew up in Rocky Creek and graduated from George County High School in 1965. His early adult life led him to learn his trade skills in welding and mechanical maintenance. In 1975 he began his 40 year career working in Pensacola and retired from Ascend Performance Materials in 2015.
He died January 31, 2021.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Tyner Box; his sons, Jonathon Bobo and James Box; his daughters, Christine Forster and Theresa Sanford; grandsons, Lewis Roy, Troy Forster and John Cotterman; granddaughters, Nicole Newton, Megan Croft, Emily Cotterman and Karianne Box; great-grandchildren, Mason Powell, Myles Powell, Addison Newton, Landen Newton, Gavin Croft, Emma Croft, Ava Butler, Zoey Fitzsimmons, Rylie Fitzsimmons and Caroline Roy; brothers, August Holcombe and Jody Box; and his sisters, Mona Bennet and Miranda Weaver.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.K. “Demp” Box and Ruth Lyle Box; and his sisters, Donna Kline and Evelyn Turner.
Interment was held at Elizabeth Chapel Community Cemetery with Pastor Jeremy Holley and Clain Roberts officiating.
Lewis Funeral Home in Pace, Fla. was in charge of arrangements.
