Graveside services were held for Jimmie Dee Howell, 78, of Howell on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 12 p.m. at Vaudie T. Howell Family Cemetery with Rev. Mark Vincent and Dr. Tommy Mitchell officiating the services.
A co-owner and operator of Gary Howell Nursery, representer of Semmes High
School in Mobile’s Azalea Trail Court of 1958 and member of Agricola Baptist
Church, she died July 9. She was born July 26, 1940 in Whistler, Ala. She will long be remembered for her strong work ethic, love for all activities in which her children were involved and her dedication to be a helpmate to her husband.
She is survived by her sweetheart and husband of 60 years Gary Thomas Howell; daughter Janine (Mark) Vincent, Decatur and sons Bryan (Marla) Howell and Jimmy (Lisa) Howell, both of Howell; grandchildren Bradley (Jackie) Howell, Garreth (Shay) Howell, Brandon (Tesa) Howell, Chelsey Vincent, Cassie Dee Howell (Jeffrey) Willis, Monica Vincent (Jordan) Smith and John Mark Vincent; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and long time friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James “Jim” Irvin and Georgia Owens; sisters Mary Ellen, Rita, Faye and Mae; and brother Ellis.
Pallbearers were her grandsons Bradley Howell, Garreth Howell, Brandon Howell, John Mark Vincent, Jeffrey Willis and Jordan Smith.
George County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
