Funeral services were held for Curtis Elton “Buck” Wade, 84, of Huntsville, Ala., formerly of Lucedale, on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville, Ala.
Interment followed in Copeland Presbyterian Cemetery in Huntsville, Ala. with Rev. Tom Lewis officiating the services.
A graduate of Rocky Creek High School who attended Perkinston Junior College, a veteran of the National Guard and of the U.S. Army from 1954 until 1958 where he reached the rank of Sergeant E5, an employee for 35 years at Redstone Arsenal and a member of the American Legion, he died June 14 in Huntsville, Ala. He was born February 8, 1935 in Collins. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed several hobbies, such as basketball, baseball, bowling, hunting and skeet shooting and was fond of saying, "You should never miss a free throw because it's a free shot."
He is survived by his wife Elaine A. Wade; sons Curt (Julie) Wade of Huntsville, Mark (Karla) Wade of New Hope and Brent Wade of Madison; grandchildren Sarah Wade, Emily Wade, Hunter Wade and Theresa Wade, all of Huntsville; sisters Jewelda (Jack) Chiarini of Johnston, R.I., Barbara (Grady) Cochran of Lucedale, Beverly Jackson of DeRidder, La., Gussie (James) Vise of Lucedale; brother-in-law Andrew Loffredo of Johnston, R.I.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Davis C. Wade and Theresa McDaniel Wade of Lucedale; brother Carroll (Margaret) Wade of Theodore, Ala.; sister Linda Loffredo of Johnston, R.I.; and brother-in-law Carlton Jackson of Convers, La.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville, Ala. was in charge of arrangements.
