John Wesley “J.W.” Cochran Sr.

 Funeral services for John Wesley “J.W.” Cochran Sr., 80, of Lucedale were held July 11, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was born Dec. 30, 1940 in Basin community. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was a member of the Mississippi National Guard and was a retired supervisor for the Hull Dept. at Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a loving father and grandfather. He died July 8, 2021. He is survived by his sons John Wesley (Cindy) Cochran Jr., Timmy (Shanee) Cochran and Joey (Melissa) Cochran, all of Lucedale. Also surviving are grandchildren Brandon Cochran of Leakesville, Arlette (Slater) Smith of Quitman, Surremy (Jacob) Goss of Memphis, Tenn., Corine Cochran of Benndale, Emmie (Caleb) Barker, Tate Cochran, Timber Cochran, Carys Cochran, Anna Kate Cochran, Lilly Cochran and Elia Cochran, all of Lucedale; great-grandchildren Greer Barker, Everly Smith and Effie James Barker; brothers James Carl Cochran and Allen Cochran; sisters Geraldine Odom, Doreen Wade, Linda Goff and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Elaine Cochran; son Thomas Andrew Cochran; parents John and Corine Cochran; brother Orville Cochran and sister Glenda Cochran. Officiating the services were Rev. Joey Cochran, Rev. John Henry and Rev. Bruce McKenzie. Interment was in Shady Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lee Shepherd, Christopher Cochran, Larry Odom, Hank Cochran, Jason Wade and Chad Cochran. George County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
