Funeral services were held for Emory Anthony Fortner, 56, of Lucedale on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Pinewood Missionary Baptist Chruch.
Interment followed in Cowart Cemetery with Rev. Hoyt Clark and Rev. Gerald Givens officiating the services.
A pipefitter and construction worker and member of Pinewood Missionary Baptist Church, he died July 8. He was born December 17, 1962.
He is survived by his wife of 3 1/2 years Robin Bond Fortner; children Melinda (Darren) Smith of Benndale, Brittany (Josh) Moss of State Line, Emilie (Lathon) Howell of Lucedale, Nikki (Chris) Eubanks of Noxapater, Megan Havard of Thorn; grandchildren Carson McLain, Abby Smith, Greyson Moss, Aaron Smith, J.T. Moss, Lilly Moss, Bayla Eubanks, Coleson Eubanks, Aidan Havard; sisters Jeannean Johnson, Nola Alexander of Benndale; nephews Joey Fairley, Tyler Martin, Albert Cole Alexander; and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Emery and Ima Fortner and sister Nola Vee Dearman.
Pallbearers included Danny Turner, Jason Davis, Danny Narmore, Joey Fairley, Tyler Martin and Albert Cole Alexander. Honorary pallbearers were Eric Eestes and Darrick Eestes.
George County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
