Funeral services for Lyman Franklin “Frank” Childress, 90, of Lucedale were held January 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at George County Funeral Home Chapel. He was born October 30, 1932. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was a member of the MS National Guard for 12 years. He was former owner of Childress Gas Company, and he was a member of the Choctaw Indian Tribe of Vancleave. He was a farmer, father and grandfather. He died January 19, 2023. He is survived by his two daughters Carol Childress and Kay (Jerry) Rogers; six grandchildren Lynn (Bobby) Williams, Rachel Davis, Rosalyn Davis, Lori Kelley, Johnathan (Crystal) Rogers and Brian (Christian) Rogers; seven great-grandchildren Hunter (Kortney) Havard, Jocelyn (Samuel) Saxon, Dalston Weaver, Kaitlyn Killingsworth, Brayden Kelley, Payton Kelly and Charlotte Rogers; four great-great-grandchildren Elijah Saxon, Lynnley Saxon, Kawyer Saxon and Mary Addis Weaver; and a host of nieces and nephews. Officiating the services were Bruce McKenzie and Larry Havard. Interment was held in Shady Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers included Johnathan Rogers, Brian Rogers, Hunter Havard, Lee Childress, Skid Waller III and Brayden Kelley. Honorary pallbearers included Payton Kelley and Elijah Saxon. George County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
