Funeral services for Rev. Milford D. Magers, 91, of Lucedale were held on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021 at 12 noon at Moments Funeral Home Chapel. He was born April 14, 1930 in Casey Creek in Prentiss County. He was a minister for 58 years. He graduated from Southeastern Baptist College in Laurel. He was a talented self-taught carpenter. He died Aug. 23, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Elsie Hogue Magers; son Phillip (Pat) Magers of Lucedale; daughters Phillis Morgan of Lucedale, Pamela (Donald) Phillips of Anguilla and Susie Crabtree of Lucedale; grandchildren Donavan (Christy) Phillips of Morton, Rebekah McClelland of Conway, Ark., Cherish Hearn of Redding, Calif., Jonathan Morgan of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Rachel (Steve) Osborne of Craig, Colo.; seven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; many nieces, nephews and cousins and too many friends to mention. He was preceded in death by his grandson Eric Magers; son-in-law David Morgan; parents William Auskie and Martha Neomie Maxwell Magers; siblings Myrtie Lowrey, Audie Magers, Clofus Magers, Leonard Magers, Herman Magers, Lota Stanford, Hessie Shouse, Edna Whittenton, Raymond Magers, Evelyn Malone, Dulon Magers, Winnie Roberts, Ludie Magers, Bertie Mae Brown, Lawrence Magers and four infants, nieces, nephews and many cousins. Officiating the services were Bro. B. J. Hudson and Bro. Zach Dant. Interment was in Go Forth Memorial Garden. Pallbearers were son Phillip Magers; grandsons Donavon Phillips and Jonathan Morgan and great-grandsons Jordan McClelland, Braxton McClelland and Colby Phillips. Honorary pallbearer was Donald Phillips. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rev. Milford D. Magers’ memory to Go Forth Ministries Children’s Home in Honduras; P.O. Box 2372; Gulfport, MS 39505. Moments Funeral Home was in charge of arrangement.
