During a special call school board meeting last week, Chris West, the school district Athletic Director, requested the Board approve reducing the price of some event tickets.
West recommended the following ticket pricing: Varsity football season tickets will remain the same as last year at $50 per ticket. Varsity football game tickets will be $7 at the gate, down from $10. GoFan (digital) tickets will remain at $7; however, fans are reminded GoFan adds an additional $1 service fee to the price of each ticket.
All other varsity sports tickets will be $6 at the gate. GoFan tickets are also $6. This is down from the $9 gate price last year.
Junior Varsity, ninth grade, and Middle School tickets will be $5 at the gate and $5 with GoFan. This is down from last year’s $8 price.
“It was simply the right thing to do,” said Superintendent Wade Whitney. “We noticed that surrounding districts were actually charging less than us and those districts were also using the GoFan app just like we were. So at the end of the day, we felt reducing the ticket prices benefited our fans and made us comparable to the other districts. We will be using the GoFan app as an option for convenience.” West told the Board the new pricing “put us about in the middle, with some schools a little higher and some schools a little lower.
GoFan is a digital ticket that may be purchased with a phone app, eliminating the need for buying and holding a paper ticket.
On the GoFan website, the company claims that since 2001, it has worked with over 10,000 schools selling over 20 million tickets — more digital high school tickets than any company.
GoFan joined PlayOn! Sports in 2022 creating the nation’s leading high school media and technology company. PlayOn! is best known for operating the NFHS Network, which provides live and on-demand content for high school sports and activities in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
Together, GoFan and the NFHS Network provide streaming and digital ticketing services to nearly 10,000 high schools nationwide.
